Fall Leaves Joseph Coat Technique

I decided to try the Joseph's Coat Technique and this is my result.  I learned the technique from Catherine Pooler's video from StampNation.  I have included the video for you to learn the technique.  She does an excellent job of explaining how to do it.  I used the same colors as she did but did my own version of the card.  It was a lot of fun to make.

Paper colors: Very Vanilla and Early Espresso
Stamp Pads: Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar and Early Espresso
Big Shot Die: Autumn Accents
Stamp Sets: Tags for you with punch,  The leaf was one I had around but you can use the stamp in the Holiday Catalog of Stampin' Up.

This is Catherine's video.  You can also find it on YouTube.  Enjoy!

Fall is in the Air

I just love the new octagon punch and the Six-sided Sampler Stamp Set.  I made this card for our Downline yearly meeting to swap with others.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black and Gumball Green. I also use the new Halloween DSP.

This is the inside of the card.  I stamped it and cut a stem from the Gumball Green.

I love this time of the year.  It is my favorite.  Pumpkins and football!

Flower Bouquet

I follow Amy O'Neil's blog and she is designing for the Artisan Team and made this beautiful flower bouquet.

So I decided to try my hand at it and came up with my own design using left over DSP.

I started by cutting a piece of Natural Composition Specialty DSP in half to make the pocket. Then I scored it 1/4, 3/4, 5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 11 1/'4, and 11 3/4.  Next I sponged Whiper White ink on it.

I folded it, glued the side together and put a piece of double sided tape at the bottom to hold it together. It is a V - shaped pocket.  I used the Blossom punch and the Pansy Punch to make my flowers. I used the Chalk Talk Framlet and stamped it with the Feel Goods Stamp Set to make the tag. I used the burlap Trim for the handle.  Takes time but lots of fun to make.

Christmas Build a Banner Simply Created Kit

I am loving the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit.  This time I created a Christmas Banner using the kit, Gold Glimmer Paper and Some old Christmas DSP. I cut my rosette paper 2 " wide and then glued 12" and 6" piece together to form the rosette.  I used the new Festive Flurry Stamp set and Framelits Dies from the Christmas catalog.  I also used the retired Snowflake die for the center.  Cherry Cobbler and gold stamp pads were used for the background on each pennant. I cut out JOY using the gold glimmer paper and the Bigz Alphabet Typeset. I hope you enjoy it.

New Catalog and New Products

Sorry I have been out of the loop for a while.  But I'm back with the new catalog and lots of new products.

Click on the catalog to enjoy all the new things Stampin' Up has to offer.

Our family just spent a wonderful vacation going across the US from Colorado to Massachusetts.  We were able to enjoy lots of family and seeing Niagara Falls.
These are the American Falls.

This is as we were taking the Mist of the Maid trip into Horseshoe Falls.  It was amazing to see.
We went to Cape Cod for one of the weekends to see our Grandson's Soccer Tournament.  It was quite cold on the Cape. Here are my daughter and husband as we braved the cold.
We had a great vacation but it is good to be home.

Mom and Me Mother's Day Workshop Success

We had such an awesome time with ladies and kids making picture frames, bottle cap necklaces, and Mother's Day Cards on Saturday at Sara's home.  The kids were incredibly creative.

This is the card everyone made.

The bottle cap necklaces were also very creative.

We will be having a Father's Day Mom and Me Workshop on June 1st.  Hope you'll join us.

"Tea for Two" Message Board

I first saw the idea for this message board from Michelle Suit.  Black and red are my favorite color combinations. I purchased a 12 x 12 frame. Then I used First Edition Specialty Paper for the background.  I layered it with Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I used paper from the DSP Neutrals and Regals Stacks. I cut the teapot with the Oval Collection Framelits Dies and decorated with the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set, the Designer Builder Brads, and Tea Time Trinkets. I cut the label using the Apothecary Framelits and decorated with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits..

It was a lot of fun to make and now I can write messages on the glass front using an EXPO Vis-a-vis pen.
You can use your imagination and create a look that will fit with your decor.

Quaker Ridge Crop Weekend April 2013

I had an awesome time stamping with a group of ladies in Woodland Park this weekend. The weather was nice and I got so much done.  Not a lot of sleep though. : ) These are my awesome stamping buddies.
One of the projects I made was the cutest album using the "For the Record Simply Scrappin' Layout Kit" out of the Spring catalog.

This will be a great way to display my pictures.

Masculine Card

Because I love Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse together, I decided to create a masculine card with these colors.
I used the honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring Catalog and then used it to cut out the hexagon shapes from 2012/2014 DSP and one is from the Sale-a-bration DSP.

Secret Garden Card

I saw the original version of this card on Narelle Farrugia's website and fell in love with it.  I really like the Sale-a-bra-tion Paper she used and am so sorry to see it gone.  Summer Starfruit, which is one of the newest colors, is becoming one of my favorites.

Using the Secret Garden stamp set and framelits from the Spring Catalog so much fun.  Not having to cut out the flowers and leaves by hand makes it a lot easier.  The other card stock that I used was Midnight Muse and Whisper White.

Final Days of Sale-a-Bration

Sale-a-Bration is coming to an end. So I decided to create one last card using the stamps and paper.  I am really going to miss being able to use the stamp sets.

I cut a piece of Pool Party 4" x 4" and rounded the corners.  Then I cut a piece of the Sycamore Street DSP 3 1/2" x 3 12".  Next I used the Scallop Square Duo. The larger square is Soft Suede run through the wood grain embossing folder.  I cut two small squares in Whisper White and Basic Black.  I used the Vintage Verses Stamp Set and the Pretty Petites Stamp Set.  I embossed the Pretty Petites with white embossing powder. The butterfly is Tangerine Tango and the ribbon is Pool Party. I connected the small squares with a gold brad.

Bunny Treats

I saw a Bunny Card on the Demonstrator Site done by Michelle Renolds and decided to improvise to make it fit on top of the cellophane bags for Easter.

I used the Subtle Certainly Celery Designer Paper and punched it with the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch. I also cut another 2 3/8" scallop out of Certainly Celery for the back.  I used the 1 1/4 " punch for the hole and the bunny bottom.  The tail was punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch and I used the Owl Builder Punch for the pads of the feet.  Lots of fun for kids to get at Easter.

Parker's Patterns

I'm still experimenting with Parker's Patterns.  I chose Very Vanilla for the card.  I used the Textured Impressions embossing folder from the spring catalog for the piece of Marina Mist.  After cutting out the Cajun Craze butterfly with the Big Shot die, I ran it through the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I'm really starting to enjoy Parker's Patterns.
